Mathias started his career in the forest industry to complement his interest in the environment with business development. In an international sales position, he developed an understanding of the interrelations of natural resource management and consumer markets. In a move to enhance his career with a deeper business understanding, he studied an MBA in Australia.

Parallel to his studies, he developed a keen interest in sustainability, which paired with his mix of skills, knowledge and experience he now advises companies on sustainability strategy. His core interest area lies in helping companies understand the importance of sustainability as a key component of their overall business strategy and develop a competitive advantage.

Mathias is a Forest Engineer (Universidad Austral de Chile) and Master in Business Administration (Melbourne Business School). He also volunteers at the Centre for Sustainability Leadership providing support on business development and planning.
